TRMA/JJC - MFG DAY was established as a result of the TRMA board's desire to amplify the voice of local manufacturing. As a crucial industry for the region, modern manufacturing has much to celebrate, given the transformation brought about by technology and automation. Repetitive, mundane, and hazardous tasks have been automated, and the industry has embraced innovation and efficiency while prioritizing safety.

MFG DAY provides today's students with an introduction to Industry 4.0, focusing on the pure science, applied science applications, and technologies driving modern manufacturing. The event features manufacturing company displays, allowing students to engage with professionals from the manufacturing and related industries, helping them connect to potential career pathways. In addition to speakers and display areas, MFG DAY includes a fun and educational activity called Manufacturing Jeopardy, sponsored by AuxSable. The ultimate goal of MFG DAY is to guide students toward the manufacturing career pathways that can begin with skills training, on-the-job training, or pursuing certificates, associate degrees, or undergraduate degrees. Once they embark on a manufacturing career, the possibilities are limitless.

Overview of the Day.

Opening Program: TRMA and JJC will welcome the students and set the day's objectives
Manufacturing Jeopardy: Using a fun, fast paced game, an experienced panel explains manufacturing facts from 6 categories: Emerging Manufacturing Careers, Safety, Environment, Jobs, Education, and Manufacturing Industry. The winning team receives an outdoor, waterproof (IPX6) blue-tooth speaker.
3 Areas for Display Case: Manufacturers and related industry professionals host STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) based displays introducing students to careers and it STEM foundation.
Social Media: There will be several manufacturing themed backdrops and props and an opportunity meet and take photos with the keynote speaker.
Lunch: Portillo's is providing Portillo's Hot Dogs!

By attending the National Safety Council First Aid /CPR and AED training you'll receive the life-saving skills you need to handle an emergency until a professional arrives! This nationally recognized, interactive course is great for emergency response teams, safety personnel, supervisors, or individuals that are required to be certified or want to be certified.

Course content includes:

Breathing and cardiac emergencies
Identifying and caring for bleeding, sudden illness and injuries
Preventing disease transmission
Allergic reactions
Bleed control

This course meets the requirements of the OSHA First Aid Standard (29CFR 1910.151) Certificate valid for two years.
